The launch of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) has been pushed back from mid-2024 to roughly May 2025. The postponement is due to another such delay in the launch of the Entry/Exit System (EES), another European Union border security measure...
ETIAS, when in effect, will allow visa-exempt nationals to enter a territory within the European Union/Schengen Area for short-term stays (usually 90 days in a 180-day period). The ETIAS authorization will be linked to a traveler’s passport and will be valid for three years, or until the expiration of the passport, whichever comes first. When a traveler gets a new passport, they will also need to get a new ETIAS travel authorization.
Authorization will cost €7 and will generally take minutes to process, although the process could take up to four days. In some instances, should a traveler need to provide additional information, processing could take as long as one month. Those under the age of 18 or over 70 will have their fees waived.

Many of the largest airlines in the United States have dropped their masking requirements; these include Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Southwest.
The backstory: On Monday, a federal judge in Florida voided the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) mandate requiring face masks on all public transportation, including passenger aircraft. Although the CDC has recently extended the mandate from April 18 through May 3, the judge ruled that the mandate exceeded the CDC’s authority under the Pubic Health Services Act. This means the federal mandate is no longer in effect (for the time being) and airlines and other transportation businesses are allowed to make their own determinations regarding mask policies.

The CDC recently announced that as of January 26th, all travelers arriving into the United States will require predeparture COVID testing.
So what does travel look for you?
☑️ Pending your destination, you may be required a COVID test before departing the states. Specifics will be detailed by location but we highly recommend getting one done regardless so there are no surprises when arriving home!
☑️ Upon return to the US, all travelers over the age of 2 will be required to test from departure of their destination - airlines will be checking for a negative test to allow you to board.
☑️ You will need a viral test no more than 3 days before your flight departs. So start making arrangements for when you arrive to you vacation destination!
☑️ If you recently tested positive for COVID (within 3 months prior to your travel dates), the CDC does not recommend getting retested unless you still have symptoms.
☑️ In case of a recent positive test, you may be able to travel with documentation of your positive viral test and a letter from healthcare provider or official, stating you are cleared.
We are also working with our travel partners to get you all the information you need to make informed travel decisions, especially as there won’t be a one size answer for all.
Yes, this may slightly change how you envisioned your travel plans. But we are assured that our travel partners are working to provide the best assistance possible!
